GameDay Squad AUS Cricket Game 5 Preview: The Hobart Hurricanes take on the Sydney Sixers in the 5th match of BBL13 in Launceston at University of Tasmania Stadium on Monday the 11th of December.

Here's everything you need to know ....

Game 5 Preview

Predicted Teams

Hobart Hurricanes: 1. Caleb Jewell, 2. Ben McDermott, 3. Matthew Wade, 4. Sam Hain, 5. Tim David, 6. Corey Anderson, 7. Chris Jordan, 8. Nathan Ellis, 9. Patrick Dooley, 10. Riley Meredith, 11. Peter Hatzoglou

Sydney Sixers: 1. Josh Philippe, 2. James Vince, 3. Kurtis Patterson, 4. Moises Henriques, 5. Jordan Silk, 6. Jack Edwards, 7. Tom Curran, 8. Ben Dwarshuis, 9. Steve O'Keefe, 10. Todd Murphy, 11. Jackson Bird

Start Vs Sit

Batters - Caleb Jewell vs Jordan Silk

Both these players averaged 38 points based on GDS scoring in BBL12 and ranked 10th and 11th respectively in the batter rankings. Silk had a tidy start against the Renegades and scored 26 runs from 14 balls at the back end of the Sixers innings. Jewell has been either rocks or diamonds in the Marsh Cup. He's had scores of 13, 0, 90, 137 and 3 for an average of 49 runs. Who to start out of these two is a real coin flip but I'm leaning towards starting Silk. The main reason is because I think the Sixers will be more exposed at the top of the order with Smith unavailable. Silk might be out in the middle earlier than the 15th over in this match. Also, openers don't have a great record in Launceston and only averaged 15 runs in BBL12.

Start: Jordan Silk

All-Rounder - Moises Henriques vs Steve O'Keefe

Both players had their moments against the Renegades but Henriques was the better of the two all-rounders and scored 49 points vs O'Keefe's 25 points. I prefer Henriques for this match as I believe he has a better match up than O'Keefe. Middle order batsmen had a lot of success against the Hurricanes in BBL12. Middle order batsmen also fared the best in Launceston averaging 33 runs. The Hurricanes were very good against spin in BBL12 and spinners didn't have much luck in Launceston, especially if they were bowling in the second innings. In the two matches that were played in Launceston in BBL12, only two wickets fell to spinners in the second innings.

Start: Moises Henriques

Bowler - Nathan Ellis vs Riley Meredith

Now this is probably the biggest selection dilemma for the match. There was nothing really separating these players in BBL12, Ellis averaged 42 points and Meredith averaged 39 points. Both bowled their full complement of overs in all but one of their matches, Meredith took 21 wickets and Ellis took 18. The main difference between these two players came down to if the Hurricanes bowled first or second. In matches where the Hurricanes bowled first, Ellis averaged 50 points and Meredith 38. When the Hurricanes bowled second, Ellis averaged 32 points and Meredith 40.

Start: Ellis if Hurricanes bowl first, Meredith if Hurricanes bowl second.
