After one of the worst rounds from a positional group in round 8, the defenders bounced back to put in a fairly solid round by all in round 9! I'm going to make one change going into round 10 and it might be the most sideways swap ever made but... fun... I'm going to be putting Luke Ryan back into the magoos, he didn't do anything wrong! Just some Pep Guardiola ball going on!

Turns out it doesn't really matter where Docherty plays, what role he has or how he gets his points, he just racks the stats up for free! Docherty will go down in the fantasy footy hall of fame and although the role is still slightly worrying, you can take solace in knowing your worries lie in the hands of Sam Docherty.

Swap alert! The most sideways trade ever and it's Hayden Young for his teammate Luke Ryan! I'm just using this as an opportunity to talk about Young because I genuinely think if you were to build a robot half back flanker for fantasy, you would get close to building Hayden Young. His intercept marking ability, line breaking running, accuracy by foot, everything adds up to fantasy points. All he needs is to take more kick-ins and he's top 6 comfortably.

If it wasn't for some late news surrounding Darcy Parish's absence in round 9 we would have had a very good round again from the midfielders! Parish has been rock solid for all coaches who are lucky enough to own him so far this year and it's a bit of a kick in the guts to lose him for a few weeks but thats footy, I just hope he can make his way back into the dream team series when he is fit to play...

Very solid without setting the world alight in round 9. Laird would have been on for a big score if he wasn't an early fourth quarter omission with a rib injury. He's a watch to see if he'll actually lace the boots up in round 9 but if he does, look for him to go big against the Western Bulldogs midfield carousel.
