GameDay Squad Rugby League - Round 13 Trading Targets

With Damien Cook missing origin selection is he the best option for Round 13? Who are some solid non-origin players to keep in mind over the representative period? Is this goal kicking WFB an underrated option this week? These are some of the questions that will be answered in the round 13 preview of buy, sell and hold. It’s essential to keep in mind that GameDay Squad is a dynasty fantasy football platform and that will be heavily taken into consideration in this article. Let us know your thoughts on who we have included below on all of our socials - twitter, facebook, instagram, discord.

Buy, Sell, Hold for round 5 of the NRL

BUY!

Reuben Garrick's bronze GameDay Squad player card

Reuben Garrick

Manly Sea Eagles - Winger/Fullback (WFB)

With Tommy Turbo heading to Blues camp, Garrick is a nice option to slot straight into your WFBs for the origin period. There is word that young gun Kaeo Weeks may nab the #1 jersey and even if he does, Garrick is still a good option in your winger/fullbacks. If Garrick happens to take the fullback role, then even better! As we know he scores well when at fullback and with the added extras of goal kicking Garrick will be a nice option to consider over this origin period.

Corey Horsburgh's diamond GameDay Squad player card

Corey Horsburgh

Canberra Raiders - Middle-Forward (MID)

With the big red missing origin selection, he will be fired up and ready to prove to Queensland Maroons coach Billy Slater he is ready if required. He looks to be the only safe option in the Raiders pack regarding decent minutes and is a decent option to slot straight into your starting 13 this week. If you want a player-of-difference option, then go with the big red and hope for some fireworks!

SELL

Ryan Matterson's gold GameDay Squad player card

Ryan Matterson

Parramatta Eels -Middle-Forward (MID)

Matterson was on track for a monster score before falling to a calf injury that will see him sidelined for up to 4 weeks. Fortunately, there are a lot of decent MIDs that GameDay Squad coaches can replace him with. This also spells good news for 2023 flier J'maine Hopgood owners, with Paulo named for NSW, Hopgun will play good minutes through the middle over the origin period.

Brandon Smith's platinum GameDay Squad player card

Brandon Smith

Sydney Roosters - Hooker (HOK)

In unfortunate news for the struggling Roosters, hooker Brandon Smith picked up a broken thumb and will be sidelined for up to 8 weeks. If you were considering using him as a hooker throughout the origin period that plan will have to be placed on the back burner. Damien Cook has missed selection and is now looking like the top hooking option in round13 and will be out to prove a point to Blues coach Brad Fittler.

HOLD...

Damien Cook's silver GameDay Squad player card

Damien Cook

South Sydney Rabbitohs - Hooker (HOK)

With Cookie missing out on NSW selection he will be out to prove a point to Blues coach Brad Fittler and is the best option to play in round 13. With Souths losing a lot of forwards to origin Cookie will be heavily relied on to run the football more than usual and will look to torch the big Raiders forwards in and around the ruck with his electrifying speed and ability to find the chalk from close range. I think we see Cookie score a meaty this weekend.

Jack Bird's legend GameDay Squad player card

Jack Bird

St George Illawarra Dragons - Edge-Forward (FWD)

With Dragons Edge Forward Bird rested in Round 12 keep him on your radar to possibly slot into your side as a POD in round 13. His ability to break tackles with a 1 arm fend has seen him score some great points throughout the season and his scores have been very consistent. If you want a smokey Bird is the word! HOLD all State of Origin players!
