Perth Scorchers - AUS Cricket Fantasy Team Preview

The pride of the west look set for a huge season. However, it may be without some big names. Cooper Connolly and Ashton Agar have both picked up injuries that could put their round 1 status in doubt. Josh Inglis also looks set to remain with the Test squad. The Scorchers will expect big things from star recruit Finn Allen, but he will have to improve on his World Cricket Championship GDS performance earlier in the year.

GameDay Squad AUS Cricket Fantasy team preview for the must-have players, potential break-out stars and Most Valuable Player ahead of the 2024/25 Aus Cricket season.

Must-Have Wicket Keeper / Batsman

Keaton Jennings - 32

The tall left-handed bat from England made a Test century on debut against India, but his career didn’t really kick on despite the promising signs. He may even do some part-time bowling, which is absolute gold for the batting position.

Must-Have Bowler

Lance Morris - 26

Lance Morris could be the key for the Scorchers this season. The 25-year-old “Wild Thing” had a breakout season in 23/24. He brings genuine One Day Cup form into this Aus Cricket season, taking 5 wickets in his last 3 games for Western Australia. It should be great watching him bowl 150 clicks consistently this season.

Must-Have All-Rounder

Aaron Hardie - 25

Aaron Hardie was incredible in last year’s Big Bash mostly due to how well he struck the ball with the bat. Given he had captaincy duties with Ashton Turner out for the season, he was reluctant to bowl himself. With Turner back as captain, he will hopefully get plenty more overs with the ball which should mean another season with an average above 60 GDS points.

Breakout Star + Team MVP

Breakout Star - Matthew Spoors - 25

Team MVP - Jhye Richardson - 28
